As the uncertain economy presents its challenges, we all must take advantage of the savings that retailers make available for eager consumers during this Holiday Season. Everyone can benefit from more cost efficient shopping; especially families on the hunt for free baby stuff for Christmas. My recommendation is to take advantage of savings of all kinds; whether it comes in the form of free baby coupons or samples of free baby products.

Some companies may require you to join their product’s community (at no cost to you of course) in order to receive their complimentary savings. Companies may request a mailing address to send you free baby food coupons or an email address to send you printable baby coupons. As a result, you will more than likely receive additional savings from them. Either way, that’s a win-win situation!!!

There are tons of free baby product coupons out there. If you are looking for diaper coupons or samples of free diapers you will find Pampers coupons, Huggies coupons, and even Luvs coupons. Other cool baby coupons include baby food coupons and baby formula coupons. You can even get free samples of baby food and baby formula directly from companies! Here are just a few ways for you to find such awesome savings NOW!

There are websites one can register with for all kinds of savings. P&G Everyday Solutions, UPromise, Shortcuts.com and your local grocery store savings cards are great places to start looking for immediate savings on many of your needs for cheap or even free baby stuff. An interesting and creative way to get free baby stuff is by entering into giveaways! Entering a giveaway is as simple as Google searching the item you are in the market for followed by the current date and getting in as many entries as possible.

One site may introduce you to another and yet another. If you start by following the simple tips in this article, you may find that your savings potential could be endless. On that note, Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays.

Cheap Parenting as a Team. Cheap parenting is best accomplished when both parents are on the same page. Here are some ways to share your frugal baby goals with your partner.

Cheap Parenting means working as a Team. Whether you like it or not, parenting is a team sport. Whether you’re married or not, whether you’re co-parenting from the same house, or not, the facts are it took two to make your baby. If you are fortunate enough to be parenting with a partner (whether it’s the baby’s biological parent or not – those are the facts these days) ..then you are likely dealing with not just your own perspectives on parenting, but theirs as well. Keep in mind that when it comes to living inexpensively and saving money on your baby needs, including things like food, clothing, baby furniture, toys, and even medical and dental costs, all of this has to be considered as a group effort.

One major way to sabotage your “frugal efforts” is to have one parent soley focussed on saving money and buying cheap, and have the other parent wanting to do the opposite. If you find yourself on opposite sides of the spectrum, keep in mind that there is always a middle road. I’m sure you’ve compromised on plenty of other topics before and this one should be no different. When it comes to deciding on either spending $59 or $299 on the baby’s car seat, keep in mind that it’s not about the price that matters. You can in fact get great quality items that are just as safe for your baby as the more expensive products on the shelf. Some might think that it must be safer if it’s more expensive. Think about this. ..If it wasn’t a safe product, would it be on the store’s shelf in the first place? Don’t let your wallet be your decision maker when it comes to making your baby purchases. And on the same note, don’t let your parenting partner over spend if you truly feel its not necessary. Baby items and the sales of baby products are a billion dollar a year industry. So many parents spend far more than what they really need to. Whether you’re a single parent, happily making it on your own or working with your partner, raising a baby on the cheap can be an easy and fun thing to do. You simply need to work together as a team to feel that support and that you’re both on the same page when it comes to saving money for a dual purpose.

If you do have a partner and you’re having trouble with them understanding your desire to stay frugal, consider sharing reasons why you want to save money. It may be helpful to share with them that maybe you want to set more money aside for college or fun family vacations rather than over spend on every hot new baby item out there. By sharing reasons why, it may help a “spendy” parent realize that the money you make together, you share together and in all reality, should both have a say in how that money is spent. Just keep in mind that raising a baby on the cheap has to be a team effort from everybody. ..Let the grandparents spoil ‘em. That’s their job!

Cheap baby gift ideas are not hard to come by. And we’ve done the leg work to find some great bargains out there! We’ve scouted a few great buys, online sale racks, and virtual clearance tables to help you with ideas for your special new baby. Below is a selection of cheap baby gifts to choose from, as suggested by fellow frugal moms, dads, and friends of babies.

No matter what type of gift you choose, or what you have in mind, remember the important thing is to make your “cheap” gift special and personal. Nobody is ever impressed to get a gift that is obviously cheap and thoughtless. Yet, it is perfectly o.k. and quite appreciated to get a thoughtful gift no matter what the cost, even if it was free! Don’t make the mistake of giving a cheap gift you didn’t put any thought into and just picked up on a whim at the corner Walgreens… bad dog! There are plenty of “cheap” baby gift ideas out there to keep giving and letting them know that you care. Take a moment to consider what the baby’s parents and family are really like. For example, if the baby’s family is into the great outdoors, maybe consider a fun outdoor baby carrier or a baby shade tent to protect from the sun. Your special consideration for the gift will definitely be appreciated and once you have a clear idea of what type of gift you want, then you can search for the deals and zone in on the online clearance spots. Consider some things that might be a good fit and then search for your bargains. Don’t get sucked into the cost so much as the gift idea itself. You can still put some thought into your gift and be cheap at the same time. A terrific cheap baby gift can cost $20 or nothing at all. Some of the best gifts we can receive are probably free anyway.

Consider some of these freebie gifts that you can create yourself. If you have kids yourself that are old enough to do arts and crafts, consider having them create something for the new baby in your life. This is especially thoughtful and shows that you value the family’s connection together. You can buy cheap supplies online or any local hobby store to make a clay dish. Clay dishes are quite simple to make and you can even design them with a nail hole to hang on the wall and paint it with fun colors or the baby’s name. You can also buy an inexpensive recycled cardboard gift box to paint and decorate for a memorable gift box for baby’s keepsakes and photos. You can find these online or at any hobby store as well. Another great “cheap” gift idea is to buy a $2 picture frame and decorate it with the baby’s name. An extra touch would be to create matching photo frames for any other kids in the family too. For about $2 each, you can get creative and include more than just the new baby in the family. However you chose to go with your cheap baby gift idea, just be sure to take your time and make it count. It’s certainly not the price that counts.

Discount Baby Products. Where do I find the good stuff for cheap? For starters, you can use this FrugalBabyTips.com as a resource guide to learn all the different ways you can save when it comes to discount baby products. We’ve done the leg work so you can search easy. And you don’t have to break the bank when you need things like car seats and cribs.

We all know how expensive some of these things can be. It’s not uncommon to see strollers for $500! Now, don’t freak out! You don’t have to spend that kind of money when it comes to cruising around with your kid in style. Of course, safety first. But did you know that there’s tons of cheap baby stuff online? You can find discount baby products online.

Discount Baby Products are something every parent wants to know about. There are some baby items worth spending money on, but not everything has to be “top shelf” when it comes to the baby essentials. You can find cheap baby products at sites like Amazon.com, BabiesRUs.com (clearance pages), Walmart.com (clearance pages), Target.com, and Craigslist.com (baby/kid stuff section). Another favorite online spot for big savings is BabyMallOnline.com. On the Clearance pages of BabyMallOnline.com, you will find cheap baby products and great deals like a 3 pack of long sleeve baby onesies for $3.99 or a pair of plush baby booties for $1.99. They also have deals like baby’s 1st pair of shoes for $5.99 or the infamously funny baby body suit that reads, “Poop Happens” for $3.99. Who can resist?

Frugal Finds & Discount Baby Products:

Here’s another good one, check out Freepeats.org. For a one time $4.95 membership fee, you can offer your free items on Freepeats.org for someone else to come pick up and also use the site to find free stuff that others are willing to give. Everything is free and it’s local. $4.95 for unlimited free opportunities sounds like a pretty good deal for cheap baby items.

Is $4.95 too much for you? You can find the FREE version at Freecycle.com. This is basically the same type of service site with a few differences in audience, but without the membership fee. I don’t know about you, but for $4.95 I think it’s worth taking a peek at both.

A lot of parents find that it’s helpful to maintain chats and exchange info through online blogs and forums. It’s a very common source of information now in this age. People no longer consult their professionals, they go to the web! Blogs like the ones you’ll find for parenting magazines are great! You can go to the “community” pages on sites like www.parents.com to see forums on parenting and tips on all sorts of things, including how to save money while on vacation, save money while traveling, shopping, saving money with schooling, education at home, ect. There are all sorts of topics of discussion out there. When I set out to talk about Saving money with baby products, I didn’t know a quarter of the info I began with. I’ve learn a great deal about discount baby products, where to find them and how much you can save using different avenues. I hope this site can be a resource for other parents out there looking to share tips on living frugal with a baby.

You can also score cheap baby items locally if you’re lucky enough to have a DollarTree store near you. At the DollarTree, everything is just $1. Here, you can find cheap baby clothes, hats, baby care products, wipes, soaps, shampoos, and especially sippy cups, bottles, snack bags, toys and seasonal items. These stores are perfect when looking for cheap baby products. For $1 per item, you can stock up on party supplies, paper cups, plates, gift bags, wrapping papers, cards, novelty toys, ect. Not to mention those cheap serving platters, which are perfect for sharing your cupcakes and not your prized serveware. Cheap baby stuff is not hard to find if you know where to look. Garage Sales, Church Bazaars, Goodwills and other Thrift stores can also save you tons! Realistically, a baby grows way too fast to enjoy wearing one outfit more than 3 times before growing out of it. It’s a fact that many mother will testify to. Most moms would shamefully admit buying several outfits that never got worn. Do yourself a favor, along with searching for money saving baby tips, also consider simply buying less. Have fun with your cheap baby product search. Being frugal can be a challenge, but it can also be fun. Good luck!

Free Pregnancy Products! Finding Free and Gently Used Maternity Clothes Online - Shopping for maternity clothes can be fun, especially if you have money to burn. However, most pregnant women have so many things to buy for their upcoming arrival that maternity clothes fall at the end of the priority list when it comes to spending. You do need clothing for those 40 weeks of pregnancy, however, and wearing your partner’s sweatpants will only get you so far. So, if you are not prepared to spend a lot of money, be sure to shop online for used maternity clothes or clothes on clearance to save yourself money. It sure beats getting out in the heat and hitting the local garage sales and you will get much better deals that you would if you shopped at consignment stores. I’ve seen baby and maternity clothes on Amazon and Ebay for less than a dollar. Maternity clothes and belly under garments for a few dollars. Now, that’s not free, but pretty darn close!

The best places to look for used maternity clothes are your friends (that’s where the free part comes in), Craigslist, Amazon, Ebay, or online discount stores. You can often find bulk packages of maternity clothes in your size. But just the sound of “bulk” maternity wear isn’t very appealing.

You will be able to get several pieces of clothing for very little money if you have the patients to look for it. Of course, always be on the lookout for shipping costs, which can sometimes add up and not make the sale worth it for you.

Maternity Forums. In addition to online auctions, you can also find used maternity clothes on pregnant women forums. By making friends online, some are bound to be local and have maternity wear that they may want to sell or even give you. There are many of these online forums that will allow you to advertise pregnancy items for free. You will be able to chat with other women like yourself and possibly make some very good trades. So, be sure to check these out as well. There is nothing better than finding a place to socialize and share your pregnancy stories with other women like yourself.

Where to Find Free Baby Items.. Anyone with a small child already knows how expensive raising a baby can be; this is why someone created a wonderful thing called a baby shower. However, unless you perfect your baby registry and everyone gets you every single thing you asked for, it’s difficult to ensure you get everything you want and need. And even if you did have the perfect shower, the items you received won’t last forever. When you notice your items are dwindling, you get desperate, calling grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents, etc. as the anonymous “baby” asking for more diapers to be shipped to an old, abandoned building – or else. But threatening people is not always necessary. So to avoid having to conjure up a baby voice just to get the expensive items you need, you might want to check out the numerous websites popping up that offer free baby items.

More and more websites are offering lots of free items to willing recipients. Many of these “free sites” used to offer frivolous items like pizza coupons or even sweepstakes entries, but the world of free has evolved and babies were not left behind. Now there are numerous sites available for parents to receive free baby items, free diapers, formula vouchers, and samples, usually with some type of registration required. To explore what is available out there, I took a look at some of the more popular sites for free baby items.

BabyToBee.com. Baby to Bee is a baby itself, starting officially in October of 2003. But the site has grown quickly over the years becoming very popular for offering free baby items like coupons, and information on baby cribs, clothes, furniture, toys and more. The site is pretty easy to use and really has a lot to offer.

This site also offers tons of articles and advice on becoming a parent, including recognizing the symptoms of teething, foods to eat during pregnancy, and even when Moms can have sex after giving birth (I know … not exact about the child, right?). It also has a $2500 Baby Photo Contest. If you haven’t looked into a baby photo contest yet, do it! Also see the article: http://frugalbabytips.com/contests-sweepstakes/ 33 baby photo contests to look into.

BabytoBee.com. BabytoBee.com states on its site that it currently reaches one-third of the 3 million pregnant women out there and within the next year, they intend to reach up to 50% of expecting parents – quite a goal! But as they grow in popularity, and continue to serve the masses with quality information, they just may attain that goal.

Baby to Bee has a few free clubs available to join such as Growing Family, American Baby, and Gerber Life. Growing Family is a free membership where you can receive free coupons, discounts and samples as well as “milestone gifts” for parents. American Baby offers a free 6 month subscription to their magazine and special offers inside for new parents. And Gerber Life is a program that offers three months of free life insurance and a free Gerber newsletter after a registration process. Be sure to register at JohnsonsBaby.com for new parent info and free offers there as well. Offers are updated often so it would be a good idea to check the site frequently to keep up with current info.

Freemania.net. Free Mania was a website created by a 14-year-old in 1996. Over a decade later the site has exploded and is one of the most popular “free sites” on the Internet – much it its success due to the offering of free baby items.

The site currently offers free baby and grocery coupons for everything from baby formula and food, to diapers and clothes. They have free coupons for Target, Chuck E Cheese, Baskin Robbins and even a free Denny’s Kids Meal. They also offer coupons for Similac and Gerber along with free samples of Bright Beginnings Formula. You can receive free recipes, potty training kits, diaper rash cream, and even a free 12-month subscription to Parents Magazine. And if you and your baby like to travel in style, you can receive coupons for Kate Spade, Babies’R'Us, Gap Maternity and more!

One thing that’s different from this site is that the majority of their free baby items are offered without the obligation to fulfill offers from sponsors. You simply click on the link that will take you to the item of choice. If it is available, you can have it – no questions asked. Nice, right?

Getmyfreebabystuff.com. I actually heard about this website for free baby items on my local radio station, which prompted me to check their site for more information. On the radio, they talked about all of the free things you can receive just by stopping by their website, so I had to know more. When I reached the site, I was greeted by pictures of precious babies, diapers, cribs, and formula. But once I got a good look at the site, I realized that it offers significantly less than the other the previous two sites I mentioned (not that anything free isn’t good, mind you!). The items they offer at this point are: Ultimate Pampers Package, Ultimate Huggies Package, Enfamil, Similac, the Storkcraft 3-in-1 Crib, and the Graco Family Tree Package.

I was interested in learning more about how to receive one of the items so I strolled down further only to be greeted by the terms and conditions. I discovered that in order to receive any of the free baby items, a person must register, complete a user survey then complete “at least 2 Silver, 2 Gold and 4 Platinum offers.” Now I’m not a big fan of “completing offers” because it usually means I have to whip out my credit card then mark the calendar to remember to cancel what I never wanted in the first place. Not to mention the difficulty with dealing with customer service reps who want to keep giving you “3 free months.” But that’s a totally different article.

Aside from having to sign up for offers, it seems to be a good site. It doesn’t offer any additional advice or information, but being able to receive one of the items I’ve mentioned able is certainly a plus – and one more thing than you had before visiting the site!

No matter where you choose to go to find your free baby items, the fact remains – they’re free! So when you have some time, check out these free sites along with the dozens of other sites out there that might be of assistance to you. You can even benefit from them without having your own child (can we say free baby items for a shower or two?). But you didn’t hear that from me!

Maternity clothing is manufactured to cater for your expanding bust, hips and waist that naturally occurs during pregnancy. Obviously it also caters for your bump that will be sitting out in front before you know it.

Many women wonder if they really need to purchase maternity clothing at all, the answer is pretty simple. If you want to look good and stay comfortable, Yes.

If you do decide that you do-not want maternity clothing you will find pants, shirts and shorts are the hardest garments to get away with this in. Normal clothing just does not allow for a belly to poke out the way your bump will!

There is an item called a belly belt that can be very useful and some mothers manage with these for a majority of their pregnancy. It consists of various size elastic strips that have a button at one end, and a button hole at the other. It comes with different colour belly panels to insert depending on the colour of your outfit. The idea is to place the belt between your normal button and button hole allowing you to wear your normal clothes for longer into your pregnancy.

Pro- Great for the first few months. You can wear your own clothes for longer.

Con- Can only be used for clothes that have a button and zip at the front. Often as your pregnancy progresses you will still find that your normal pants, skirts or shorts end up tight in the legs and hips as these areas are the natural place for your body to store fat as it prepares for the birth of your baby. Maternity clothing is designed with this in mind.

Maternity clothing is designed to be more flattering these days then what it once was. These days most women are extremely excited about their pregnancy and want to show their ‘bumps’ to the world. You will achieve this better and remain more comfortable throughout your pregnancy by carefully selecting a few quality maternity wear garments. As most tend to do with their normal wardrobes you will have your favourite outfits that you wear constantly so you will want garments that wash and wear well. There are two main things to consider prior to making your new wardrobe purchases:

How much wear will I get out of this item?

Consider the style and think about what stages of your pregnancy you will be able to wear it. Look for garments that will look good and feel comfortable regardless of if you are 3 months pregnant or 9 months. Many are also suitable post pregnancy while you are working on getting your shape back, these are a great choice.

How comfortable will this be on my stomach?

If this is your first pregnancy it maybe a little hard to imagine what you will feel like at 8 months pregnant, but roughly it is like someone has placed a basketball inside your belly. It isn’t very flexible, doesn’t like to bend to much and doesn’t like pressure on it. So the last thing you want is something that cuts across your belly.

The good news is that you don’t have to spend a fortune on you maternity wardrobe. By carefully selecting some basic mix and match items you can keep your budget in check. Recommended must have basics would be one or two pairs of comfortable pants, a skirt – length dependant on personal preference, and depending on time of year a pair of shorts. For tops you often can get away with your own for longer then with your pants however eventually you will require more room. Although it maybe tempting to just buy larger sizes you will find they look too big around the shoulders and will be firm around the waist. Maternity tops generally are designed fuller in the bust area and have longer front hemlines to allow an even look as your bump expands, so a couple of Maternity tops and you have your wardrobe set.

With the economy being what it is these days, everybody is looking for ways to save money. Whether it’s giving up your weekly lottery ticket, not buying brand name products at the grocery store, the entire country seems to be feeling the pinch. And with a baby on the way, it may be hard for you to justify spending hundreds of dollars on a whole new wardrobe that you may only be wearing for another 6 months.

Although it’s not a particularly good idea to suffer through your pregnancy trying to squeeze your expanding body into your pre-pregnancy clothes, there are some ways that you can feel comfortable throughout your nine months without breaking the bank.

Ask Friends or Relatives for Used Maternity Clothes

Some people might not like the idea of hand-me-down clothes at the age of 26, but this is actually a very common and cost-effective way of getting maternity clothing. If you have any friends, relatives or neighbors who recently gave birth, it’s worth your while to call them and inquire about what they did with their old maternity clothes. More then likely, they bought them and only wore them for a six to seven month period of time before placing them in their closet and forgetting about them. They would probably be more then happy to see someone get some use out of them, rather then them collecting dust. Keep in mind what your body and shape is in relation to the person you are asking. If your friend Louisa was 40 pounds heavier then you pre-pregnancy, chances are her maternity clothes will be far too large for you to fit in.

Just be careful how long ago your friend or relative was pregnant and where in the house they have been storing them. You don’t want to be wearing a maternity dress from 1993 that smells like a musty attic.

Check eBay for used or discounted maternity clothes

For those who are still not familiar with eBay, this option may prove to be exhausting and difficult at first, but eBay can be a great way of finding cheap, slightly used maternity clothing if you don’t have any friends or relatives that you can borrow from. Simply by typing the words “maternity clothes” in the search box, you will find a seemingly unlimited amount of clothing options at more then reasonable prices. You can find maternity clothes ranging anywhere from brand name, never before worn maternity jeans, to complete sets of maternity outfits at next to nothing prices. A good tip to keep in mind for new eBay shoppers is to not only look at the bidding price when deciding to purchase an item. Although you might find a pair of maternity jeans that are $20.00 cheaper then anywhere else you’ve seen, depending on where the seller is located, the shipping and handling costs may push the price of your garment up by almost $30.00.

Shop Online Instead of in Stores

This can not only save you money, but can save you a major headache from having to drive from store to store looking for an outfit that suites your taste, while carrying an extra 10 pounds around your waist.

There is a financial advantage to shopping online for maternity clothes as oppose to shopping in stores, since prices are cheaper then what you would pay in person since you buy directly from a manufacturer. You can also view the various sales and promotions that each online retailer is running right from the comfort of your own home. If you see a particular maternity dress that you like, you can easily search other stores to see if they are running a cheaper sale on that same item. Most online stores will also offer you discounts on clothing if you purchase more then $50.00 – $100.00 in merchandise, or offer free shipping.

Although purchasing products online is still foreign to some people, and may make them uneasy to give away their credit card number over the internet, most online stores now have very secure payment processing methods and doing business online has become a fairly common practice.

However you decide to deal with your wardrobe issues as your body expands, they key thing to remember is that comfort is king. During these nine months, your body will be going through a lot of uncomfortable changes, and wearing clothes that feel good can go a long way in getting you through your pregnancy.

If you’re in the market for ways to save money during your pregnancy, then you will likely be interested in not just saving money, but maybe making some too! Have you ever considered entering a few photo contests or sweepstakes for baby products or even cash prizes? One of the best out there is the infamous Cute Kid Contest. Apply Here for The Cute Kid Photo Contest!

Coupons for Baby Formula. All new and expectant mothers are certainly aware that babies are wonderful and fun little bundles of joy. These little angels also cost a great deal of money when it comes to purchasing baby food, baby formulas, and baby diapers. The cost of all of these products is going up almost daily it seems. You want your baby to have what it needs and you do not want to sacrifice quality for quantity. The question is how to buy your baby products like diapers and formula, and still stay on a reasonable budget? Luckily, there are ways to do this and you can start saving money today on your next purchase of baby food, formula, or diapers.

Saving on Baby Diapers can be simple. One of the biggest daily costs for your baby will come about through the purchase of baby diapers. Many parents choose to use disposable diapers for their little ones because of the convenience involved. Eco conscious parents who wish to be green in their daily activities will choose reusable cloth diapers for their babies. Either choice will mean that there is a substantial outlay of cash because both diapers and diaper cleaning services will cost money. Even if you use cloth diapers and wash them at home, you will still be spending money for the diapers and the products with which you clean them. By using coupons that give you refunds and rebates or money off the purchase, you can see those costs drop. In some cases, you will get coupons that let you pick out cloth or disposable diapers absolutely free, and that is a savings that everyone appreciates. Whenever you can find a sale on the diapers that you like and you can whip out some coupons to use you will easily double your savings. Always be on the lookout for the stores that offer double and triple off coupons on certain days and buy your diaper purchases in bulk then… and use those coupons. You can even write to the company that produces your diapers. Address your letter to customer relations and let them know that you use their product. Tell them truthfully if you were pleased or not with their company product and tell them why. In either case, they will be happy to send you some coupons or even issue you a refund. They are always glad to hear good feedback from happy consumers.

Saving on baby formula. Babies eat and they eat a lot. These little guys and girls are hungry and if you are not breast feeding you will soon be putting a lot of money into baby formula to keep them satisfied. New mothers can tell you how expensive baby formula is. Powdered formula is your cheapest bet when you are making the purchase. You can use the powder to make lots of bottles of formula on an as needed basis. Coupon clipping can help you rake in some great savings on the baby formula that you use. All of the manufacturers have coupons available if you know where to find them. You can start with your pediatrician. He will usually be able to provide you with free samples and some coupons for either free cans of baby formula or for money off of your purchases. These baby product coupons are provided by the formula companies who hope to turn you and your baby into loyal and faithful baby formula customers. You can also find some great coupons in your weekend newspapers and in the grocery stores. If you don’t see the coupons in the baby product aisle, ask the manager….don’t be shy. Managers usually have the coupons, but sometimes forget or neglect to post them. If you see a vendor stocking the baby formula, you can ask them for coupons too. They will gladly give you some. The vendor is totally different from the store stock boy. Also check to see when the store is scheduled for a sale on the formula and try to make your purchases then. Baby books and magazines are wonderful sources for coupons on baby formula and many other baby needs, such as baby food, diapers, and snacks.

Join a Forum. Make a difference in how you view and use coupons by signing up to join a forum. These forums are composed of new and expectant moms just like you. They are eager to share coupons and tell others where to find the best savings. You can find online sites to go to and sign up for coupons that you can download or get through the mail. You will be able to use any of the coupons at your favorite stores. Many of the forum participants have years of couponing experience and they can share their favorite cost cutting tips and ideas with you and send your savings even higher. When you begin pulling in your own refunds, rebates and dollar savings, you may want to post an article or two yourself.

Have fun while you save. Forums are great ways to share ideas about babies and how moms are saving money. These are two things that are dear to all new moms throughout the country. It is always fun to share with others. And what better tips to share than proven ways that can save you lots of dollars and help you care for your little angels? Join a coupon forum today and you will instantly save on your very next purchases for baby.

Similac Formula Coupons. One of the most popular methods to save money on baby formula is by using coupons, which can save you anywhere from a few cents up to to $5.00 or more. Most retailers accept these coupons and just deduct the coupon from the retail price of the product. The trick to coupons is to make sure that you have a coupon when you need it. There are a couple of ways to get formula coupons and make sure you have them on hand. You can get the coupons you want and have them on hand anytime you need them. Have a special place in your car to keep your coupons. Try to make a habit of asking yourself “do I have any coupons for this trip,” before you even walk in the store.

Second, you can sign up to get formula coupons, including free sample diapers and free formula coupons. Registering for free coupons is a great idea, but you will get a mix of coupons and discounts on a designated schedule. In other words, you may get formula coupons for Similac, but you’re also going to get it for other formula manufacturers. Plus, you don’t control when you get the coupons. Regardless, free is free, so register and use what you can.

Third, some companies have coupons online that you can print out. It is a wide range of products, including infant formula, baby food, and groceries. It’s free to get these coupons. Formula coupons may not always be available, but there is usually a lot of coupons and you can use something and save money. The two coupon websites that I really like and have a good mix of stuff you really use are:

CouponBar -Download our FREE CouponBar to get quick and easy access to dozens of name brand coupons!

Finding Infant Formula Coupons. With all the other things you have to do as a new parent, hunting for coupons can sound like a waste of time. But you can reap considerable savings with just a few clicks of the mouse; do the more time consuming tips when you get settled into a routine with the new baby.

Formula Clubs. One of the fastest and easiest ways to get coupons is to sign up for a formula club. These clubs are free, provided you fill in all of your information and maybe answer a few quick questions. In return, you will get email newsletters that often have coupons right in the email itself or links that take you to a special deal. Clubs may also send sample/coupon packets through the postal mail after your baby is born.

Enfamil, Similac and Nestle Good Start all have formula clubs.

Coupon Swaps. Joining a moms club provides you with plenty of other women who will need coupons or be receiving coupons they no longer need. Have a “coupon swap” once a month where you exchange unwanted coupons for ones you will use. You can limit it to formula or include other baby care items, too. These get-togethers typically turn into coupon giveaways rather than swaps.

Members of clubs like Freecycle.org and Freepeats.com, may also find they can swap coupons within their groups.

Coupon Blogs and Websites. A number of websites and bloggers are dedicated to finding the best deals for you and your new baby. They often provide links to printable coupons, information about coupons in printed circulars or provide coupon codes for purchasing formula online. Not to mention, finding out about special sales and other deals makes it worth your while to visit.

Check the parenting, kids/baby or family section of general money saving sites for formula coupons. You can also follow blogs and sites that cater specifically to moms and babies, like Baby Cheapskate and Freebies4Mom.

Printable Baby Coupons. If you’re looking for ways to save with your baby expenses, then baby coupons are definitely a way to go. Especially if you’re looking for those pricey baby items like diapers and baby formula. Manufacturers know that you have a choice and their competition for similar products are big. Let the product makers compete for your business and use those free samples and promo codes. They create these promos and coupons for a reason… they want you to use them.

One of the best sites out there for “printable” baby coupons is www.Printable-Coupons.com. You can also visit more baby specific coupons sites like www.BabyCouponsDirect.com. These sites are sometimes mixed with good,
Legitament coupons, but some have ads and marketing “processes” that you have to complete in order to get your savings. Sometimes this can add up to a lot of your time, so it just depends how much time you want to put into your new budgeting techniques.

See Below for a list of useful links. The nice thing about sites like these is they have easy searching capability. You can search by category or you can search by brand. For example, “Huggies.com” or “Pampers.com.”

Baby coupons can be really helpful to anyone raising a baby or adding to their family. Babies require simple things like love, attention, devotion and a whole array of baby products! Of course as the saying goes, love is free, but the baby products will cost you! Baby product coupons can lessen the expense of purchases you need to make for all of the basic baby products your child needs and more.

You may not even need to “print” your coupons! Have you heard of E-Coupons yet? Now, most stores allow you to download them to your mobile phone, which is basically a text message with a promo code. You simply give this at check out either online or in store and you have instant savings.

MomsView.com has a pretty good coupon page too. They have a snazzy tool that shows the “deal of the day” which has about 15 new limited deals … for the day.

Cheap Recipes for Baby Food. We all know that babies need to eat. But, the cost of buying commercial brand baby foods can quickly mount up. For the frugal spender, and especially with a new family addition, it seems almost impossible to keep up with the demand when it comes to buying those jars of baby food and canisters of baby formula. Even when you can buy it cheap with coupons and club cards, the cost of purchasing pre-made foods (especially the baby formula) far exceeds the cost to make your own baby food. If you choose to follow these tips, not only will you be saving money for your family, and knowing exactly what you eat now, but you will also be reducing waste, simply by consuming less.

Babies can cost a lot of money. You have to buy diapers, clothes, and all types of baby care products. So, to offset the cost of those other baby necessities, you may want to consider making your own baby food. You can easily make your own baby food and here are some super simple recipes! It’s not as hard as you probably think. Follow these simple tips for finding frugal recipes for making baby food that will allow for saving, cost-cutting, and yet be exceptionally nutritional for your little one.
Be sure to SCROLL DOWN FOR SIMPLE BABY FOOD RECIPES…

Step One. Prepare ahead of time for your baby’s food. If you have a freezer, then there’s no reason why you can’t puree some fruits and veggies ahead of time and get that freezer stocked! You’ll be surprised how quick time goes by and when you already have some things prepared, it makes dining at home a bit easier. Pureeing some fruits and veggies is a great way to prep for healthy smoothies and tasty bran muffins. Another mini “pre-baby” step you can take is to actually read the hospital’s New Parent Packets that you receive when the baby is born. These brochures come from a number of different companies that may also include some baby food recipes for first-time parents. If you have a Whole Foods grocer near you, their FREE magazines at the check out also have great baby and kid snack recipes. Their a gold mine when it comes to seasonal snacks. There may only be a few, but they are usually extremely simple and made with ingredients that are not that costly.

Step Two. Search out organic or all natural parenting websites and grocers for baby specialty foods and baby recipe ideas. Buying “organic” and natural foods can be a bit more expensive than non-organic foods, but if you put some effort into it, you can use coupons and save a little that way. See if you can arrange your shopping items; purchase according to what’s on sale or the grocer’s special offers. Usually, the grocer will have weekly or daily ads to check out at the door. This is always a smart way to shop! Plus, if you can get in the routine of purchasing less, yet a little more often, you will find that the amount of food you waste is less too.

Step Three. Buy your baby food ingredients at your local farmer’s market and ask them about recipes for making your own baby food. Farmers have been making their own baby food since the beginning of time. From bananas, apples, and pear puree to a carrot and squash blend, farmers will have plenty of information on making the most out of the foods that they sell. Expect healthy, all natural, and frugal recipes, as well as bargains on the foods that you buy from them. We love farmers! These markets usually offer savings of up to 50% off of the regular supermarket prices. Not to mention the priceless tid bits you’ll get along the way.

Step Four. Ask other parents (experienced parents) and the older members of your family if they have any good recipes for baby food. You might be surprised at how much people remember about the “good old days” when they didn’t have manufactured baby food, and they didn’t have a choice but to make their own baby food! Can you imagine? Tap into your friends and family resources and I’ll bet you’ll be surprised what they share. Grandma’s will introduce you to the “cup of frozen peas” and such!

A “Mom Tip”: Use your freezer wisely. Freeze what you can to get the most out of the foods you buy, for you or the new baby. If you find that you are always tossing out old moldy bread, freeze half of it in a Ziploc Freezer bag until the first half is gone.
Cheap Baby Food Recipes:

If you’d like to make your own breakfast for baby, then try this baby cereal recipe which is both wholesome and easy to prepare.

Wholesome Rice Cereal
2 oz brown rice powder
8 fl oz water
a little formula/breastmilk

To make the rice powder, grind brown rice in a blender or food processor. This is best achieved by grinding in small quantities – and to make the powder REALLY fine, you might find a coffee grinder attachment useful.

You can use white rice if you prefer, but brown rice (especially organic brown rice) is more nutritious. Bring the water to a boil. Add the rice powder, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Simmer for about 10 minutes (don’t forget to keep stirring, or the rice will stick). Then stir in enough formula or breast milk to give the consistency that’s best for your baby. Once baby has been introduced to fruit, you could always add a little of his favorite fruit puree.

manganese.

The following are the best ways to cook this healthy veggie for your baby.

Baking. This is oh-so-easy! Pre-heat your oven to 375 deg F, 190 deg C. Scrub the potato, prick it with a fork and bake it for around 45 mins, until it feels soft. Cool briefly, then split the skin and scoop out the soft flesh.

Boiling. Peel and cut the sweet potato into chunks. Use just enough water to cover the potato, then cover the pot and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, then simmer until tender. Drain straight away, or the pieces will become mushy and watery.

Steaming. Place peeled sweet potato cubes on a steamer rack over a pan containing around an inch of water. Cover and bring the water to a boil. Reduce the heat and steam for 10-12 mins.

Microwave. Pierce a whole sweet potato with a fork, then place on a paper towel and microwave on high for around 5 mins. Allow the potato to stand for a further 5 mins – it will continue to cook during this time and will soften considerably.

Having a barbecue? Then just wrap a sweet potato in foil and place it in the coals to cook. It will take around 45 mins… and is a great way for your baby to join in the party!

The Blueberry.

When can my baby eat blueberries?

Unrelated to strawberries and raspberries – and related instead to the less allergenic cranberries and bilberries – blueberries are not subject to the usual ‘berry baby food’ rules! Whilst medical professionals usually recommend waiting until at least 12 months before introducing other berries (strawberries in particular), blueberries are not as likely to cause allergic reactions and many pediatricians will suggest offering them to your baby at some point between 6 and 9 months of age.

Why blueberries are a ’superfruit’

In research carried out by the USDA/Tufts University, blueberries were named as the number one source of antioxidants of all fruits and vegetables! The role of antioxidants in the human body is varied – helping prevent conditions such as peptic ulcers, cataracts, glaucoma, hemorrhoids, varicose veins – and serious diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

The anthocyanins in blueberries (which give them their distinctive colour) are believed to protect the brain and – in later life – limit the effects of conditions such as Alzheimer’s Disease.

And that’s not all – blueberries are also packed with manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K and fibre.

Fresh blueberries have a very mild laxative effect on the body, meaning that they can be very useful in preventing and relieving constipation. Dried blueberries, on the other hand, seem to have the opposite effect and are often recommended for firming up the stools after a bout of diarrhea.

Another interesting characteristic of blueberries is their ability to prevent urinary tract infections, in much the same way as cranberries do. If your child experiences frequent urinary tract infections, then including blueberries in his diet or offering blueberry juice will be a far more palatable and popular solution for him than offering cranberries!

PLEASE NOTE: Eating lots of blueberries can make your baby’s poop look almost black in colour – so beware!

Apple, Pear and Blueberry Puree (6 months+)

Remove any stems from the blueberries, then place all the ingredients in a small saucepan.
Just cover with water and simmer gently for approximately 5 mins, until the fruits are tender.
Drain (reserving the cooking water), then transfer the ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth.
Use the reserved cooking liquid to thin the puree, if necessary.

Blueberry Custard (6 months+)2 beaten egg yolks
8 fl oz (1 cup) whole (full fat) milk, breast milk or formula
4oz (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries, mashed
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 deg C).
Place the prepared blueberries into the bottom of a small, oven-proof dish.
Combine the beaten egg yolk with the milk and vanilla extract.
Pour the egg mixture over the blueberries.
Sit the oven-proof dish in the middle of a high-sided baking pan and pour water into the pan until it comes around half way up the sides of the oven-proof dish.
Transfer the baking pan to the oven and cook for 30 mins, until set.
Cool and store in the refrigerator.
Serve chilled.

Pork with Blueberry and Apple Sauce (7 months+)4oz pork loin, cubed
1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
2oz (1/4 cup) blueberries
4 fl oz (1/2 cup) homemade or low sodium chicken stock

Put the cubed pork into a small saucepan and pour in the stock.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the diced apple and the blueberries and simmer for a further 5-10 mins, until the apple is tender and the pork is cooked through.
Puree or mash all the ingredients together and serve with pasta, rice or potatoes.

Blueberry Pancakes (12 months+)1 cup (4 oz) whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
8 fl oz (1 cup) cow’s milk, breast milk or formula
1 whole egg
oil
4oz (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries

Mix the wet ingredients in one bowl and the dry ingredents in another.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then gently stir in the blueberries.
Spoon the mixture into a non-stick frying pan, 2-3 tablespoons at a time, and fry for around 1 minute on each side.

NOTES: If you are baking with frozen blueberries, DON’T thaw them before use. If you do, the colour will ‘bleed’ through the food you are making.

And in a recipe containing both baking soda and blueberries, you may find that the blueberries turn green! This is not harmful and is the result of a reaction between the baking soda and the yellow pigment in blueberries.
